Diego Ortiz decide tomar distancia en el PSOE de Pinto

Diego Ortiz announces he will not continue as Secretary General of the PSOE in Pinto.
"Today is my last day as Secretary General of the PSOE in Pinto". With these words, the former mayor (2019-2023) and party spokesperson has announced that he will step down from leading the organization and will not seek re-election. The announcement will be formalized at the assembly that the socialists will hold tomorrow, where his current Deputy Secretary General and Secretary of Municipal Policy, Jesús Poza, who is also the CEO of the public company Red.es, will take over.
Ortiz, however, will still be part of the new leadership team: "I am not leaving Pinto as some may think". His first appointment as Secretary General of the PSOE in Pinto was in 2017, when he was already the spokesperson for his group in the municipal corporation, and was subsequently ratified in 2022. "Thanks to all the people who have accompanied me in the different local executives over these years and to the party members for their support," he said after almost 8 years.
He also wanted to apologize to his family and friends for "taking away hours from them and not being able to enjoy many important moments with them". Diego Ortiz described his tenure as Secretary General of the PSOE in Pinto as a period during which "I have experienced difficult moments and others less so, I have gained friends and, of course, also enemies, but I leave with the satisfaction of the work done".
The resignation comes after the results of the last municipal elections. The PSOE, which won the 2019 elections and had governed in the last years of the term with Unidas Pinto and Podemos, was the second most voted force in the elections, with only 213 votes fewer than the PP. The situation opened a crack in the organization and separated two of its major figures in recent years, such as the deputy in the Madrid Assembly, Lorena Morales, and Ortiz himself.
